ABOUT US
The Comanche Pool Prairie Resource Foundation was formally organized in 1999 as a 501(c)3 non-profit entity by a group of five ranchers in the Red Hills region of south-central Kansas and north-central Oklahoma.
The Comanche Pool service area encompasses approximately 7 million acres of rangeland across 14 counties near the South Central Kansas and NorthWestern Oklahoma border. Kansas counties include Comanche, Barber, Clark, Meade, Kiowa, Ford, Pratt. Oklahoma counties include Woods, Harper, Beaver, Woodward, Ellis, Alfalfa, Major. The Comanche Pool has leveraged over $4 million for private land restoration projects in one of the largest contiguous native grasslands in North America.
Over $2 million in grant funding has been secured over the years to carry out the Comanche Pool mission, plus matching funding from partnering organizations and over a million dollars from landowner in-kind contributions.
