OUR MISSION
PROVIDE DEMONSTRATIONS, EDUCATION, AND CONSULTATION TO REGENERATE THE NATURAL RESOURCES AND TO PROMOTE THE ECONOMIC GROWTH OF THE RURAL COMMUNITY.
ABOUT
The Comanche Pool is dedicated to the regeneration and protection of natural resources to preserve rangeland ecosystems and enhance rural socioeconomics.
We are a non-profit, regional grazing organization located in south-central Kansas and north-central Oklahoma on 5.4 million acres of mixed-grass and sand-sage prairies. The region is ecologically important because it is Kansas’ second largest, in-tact tract of native prairie (second only to the Flint Hills), and is home to a number of declining wildlife species which require large, unfragmented tracts of native prairie. We work with ranchers in its area to educate how best to manage grasslands to produce wildlife, clean air and water, as well as income from livestock grazing.
MEETINGS
Come out and join us for our regularly scheduled "coffee shop" meetings!
Open to any landowner in the SW Kansas and NW Oklahoma area, these meetings allow for valuable opportunities to network and learn from rangeland experts.
Attendees also receive Information on upcoming landowner scholarships and grants.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Comanche Pool provides scholarships for landowners to attend rangeland management workshops and programs.
Landowners can apply online or by downloading and mailing in your form. To apply please email a brief summary of the scholarship you are applying for and how it will benefit the Pool's core area.
